$1000 scholarship awards for deserving high school seniors who may meet the following criteria:

Academic excellence

Accepted to college, university or trade school
-
Financial need
-
Community service oriented
Application, essay, and required documents, due on
Extended to May 21, 2021
Required documents:

Annual household income documentation – last year’s W-2 form of legal guardian(s) or of self if student is legally independent

Copy of official transcript

Copy of postsecondary school acceptance letter

Other documentation, if necessary, to prove eligibility

Due to Covid-19 the 2020 Cesar Chavéz Commemorative Breakfast was unfortunately canceled. The Sponsors of the Breakfast wanted to continued to support our event and the scholarship contest. In an effort to maintain social distancing measures, our students submitted their essays and the judges read them remotely. On July 25th, the winners were announced and were able to collect their rewards.
Thank you to San Diego Firefighters Local 145 for allowing us to host our Scholarship Drive at their location. This event would not be possible without the generosity of our Sponsors and Partners.

Congratulations to Hennessy Perez, the first recipient of The Esequiel & Sheryl Sanchez Founders Scholarship. The Sanchez family has graciously donated proceeds towards the Bomberos Scholarship Program.
